How to get a mix from Ableton Live to your iPhone

By Ryan Whitten · Updated October 2, 2026

The quickest way to get a mix from Ableton Live to your iPhone is to export it into the song's folder in StudioTrackr Bounce for Mac. It uploads as that song's next version and plays on your phone, in album order with the rest of the project, before you've left the room.

Export the mix from Ableton Live

  1. Choose File > Export Audio/Video.
  2. Set Rendered Track to Main for the full stereo mix.
  3. Choose WAV, 24-bit, at your Set's sample rate. Leave Normalize off so mixes keep their real levels.
  4. Click Export, then choose the song's folder inside your StudioTrackr folder in the save dialog and name the file.

Ableton Live tips

Live can also encode a 320 kbps MP3 alongside the WAV. You don't need it for StudioTrackr, which makes its own playback copy, but it's handy if you're sending the mix somewhere else too.

Live renders offline, faster than real time, unless your Set uses external hardware. Turn off Render as Loop for a mix export; it's meant for loops that wrap their tails back to the start.

What happens next

StudioTrackr Bounce sees the new file, uploads it as the song's next version, and it's on your iPhone, on the lock screen and in CarPlay. Filenames don't matter: the folder decides the song, and bouncing the same name twice gives you two versions, not one overwritten file. If the wifi drops, it keeps trying until the mix is up.
